The Cutler family's record label Hoorgi House Records is to release Privilege. First produced for Rough Trade Records in 1983, this collection has not previously been available on CD. The release date is 19th October 2009.
The first of three records Ivor made for Rough Trade Records, Privilege is unusual in being only one of two albums that Ivor made in collaboration with other artists. It is unique in that there is a second voice to be heard, that of singer Linda Hirst. The album additionally features musicians David Toop and Steve Beresford who play several instruments as well as producing the record. Previously released as a single, the song Women of the World was inspired by the actions of the women at the Greenham Common Peace Camp. Ivor supported the women in their protest against plans to base nuclear weapons in Berkshire.
